Being President Gloria
What if she is really doing a great job and her heart is really in the service of the people?
I think I am getting a clear picture how President Gloria feels being the president of the Philippines. But this is not going to be about President Gloria, but about my mom.
My mom was elected to be the president of our village. I see all her hard work in putting things in place. She does not have any salary for working. She is mostly out in the office to work, and people always come here to talk to her or get permits.
In spite of doing all these things, we always hear bad feedback about her. People always gossip about everything she does. Even if she is not doing anything wrong, there will always be people who tries to spread gossip about her.
The worst part is, people working for our religious council are those that keep spreading gossip about her. "People of God" gossips about her. Sometimes, it is really hard to belong in the religion I am in. People who serve in our church are the gossipers. They even spread issues among themselves. You can't trust them at all. Mom even refused to hear mass in our village chapel to avoid them.
Sad, but that is reality. I told my mom to no longer serve in our village, especially because it is for "FREE". President Gloria is still lucky for being paid to be of service to people.
Well, politics will always be dirty. People will never change. People "may" change, by MIRACLE.
